Employers: can you help?

Posted: 27th Feb

Students at Bairnsdale Secondary College who are enrolled in the Victorian Certificate in Applied Learning (VCAL) are seeking support to help find them work placements to satisfy a vital part of their studies.

VCAL is an alternative program for year 11 and 12 students who are looking to gain employment rather than going down the path of university, studying english, maths, work-related skills and Vocational Education Training (VET) subjects. What makes the VCAL program stand out from other programs is that the subjects learned prepare students for employment with hands-on, practical learning. One of the most important parts of the VCAL program is Structured Workplace Learning, with each student completing a work placement which in turn increases their knowledge and gives them some experience in the workplace.

If you feel you would be interested in finding out more about the work placement program or offering a place please contact the VCAL Coordinator, Chris Taylor at Bairnsdale Secondary College, or speak to Don at the Gippsland East LLEN.
