Resilience and Recovery Officer

Position overview

This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Bairnsdale.

The purpose of the role is to engage with the community, establish community needs, inform municipal recovery activities and promote community resilience.

What you will need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications and / or experience in emergency management, community planning or development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with communities and agencies to achieve shared outcomes
  • A working understanding of community led recovery and practice
  • Well established networks across East Gippsland and an understanding of place-based community planning
  • An understanding of emergency management frameworks and the importance of community resilience building within these frameworks. Flexible and adaptive communication and interpersonal skill
  • Flexible and adaptive communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed written communication skills.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Working with Children Check and current Police Check. Applicants for this position must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
