About the Role

To develop and sustain workplace that will provide systems, safeguards, and measures enough to protect the health and safety of employees, contractors and visitors to the workplace.


  • Lead and assist in risk assessments and other safety assessments to support HSE management system.
  • Record and investigate any facility incidents / accidents / near misses within company intranet-based reporting system.
  • Maintain listing of hazardous substances stored and used at facility and maintain up to date Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Prepare and review facility Environmental Aspects and Impacts Assessment
  • Coordinate programme of facility housekeeping inspections.
  • Coordinate programme for waste streams and waste disposal to maximise re-use and recycling opportunities. Collate data for improvement opportunities.
  • Identify requirements and schedule facility required Industrial Hygiene Assessments
  • Coordinate facility emergency drills, e.g., Fire Evacuation, Emergency Spills
  • Work with facility management to prepare facility Business Continuity Plans
  • Work with facility management and through risk assessment and regulatory requirements develop HSE training programmes and HSE Training Matrix
  • Conduct facility HSE self-audits.
  • Prepare HSE presentations for communication at regular HSE meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of HSE Toolbox Talks material
  • Use JDE HSE reporting system and monitor and report regularly to facility management on progress and closure of Incidents, CAPA and Observations
  • Maintain HSE training records and registers.
  • Maintain HSE communication records, e.g., Toolbox Talks, HSE Meetings
  • Maintain contractor approval records.
  • Encourage and promote safe working practices, observe, intervene and correct at risk conditions / behaviour.
  • Routinely update facility HSE Information Boards
  • Document and develop facility required Level III HSE procedures
  • As required complete HSE sections within operational tenders

  • Comply with the Global and Business Unit HSE policies and procedures.
  • Behave in a professional and ethical manner in accordance with our corporate policies.
  • Working hours to be identified with line manager (flexible 7/8am starts)
  • Ability to communicate with personnel at all levels within the organisation.
  • Ability to travel to support multiple locations (as applicable - very infrequent)
  • Experience in a similar role previously
  • An eye for detail and a result driven approach
  • Computer literacy, ERP and Microsoft suite
  • High level of Health and Safety awareness
